W e received the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR at the National Assembly for the joint sitting of the Senate and House of Representatives. The president was at the joint session to flag off the new national anthem assented to as an Act of Parliament in commemorating 25 years of our unbroken democracy and the first anniversary of Mr President's anniversary in office. I had the singular honour together with other principal officers of both chambers to receive and usher the President and his entourage to the joint session. The President, in his speech, eulogised the National Assembly for the robust collaboration between the executive and legislative arms, citing the expeditious passage of the 2024 budget as a reference point.
